Why are vectors so important?

"I would say vectors are important because they are the mathematical way to represent relationships involving position, velocity and acceleration of moving objects. If you want to model "real life" you need to work in three dimensions, and vectors take care of that. The best way to see how vectors work is with animations. I wish there were a lot more of that in physics courses. If you can see things in motion along with the vectors involved it's much easier to get the idea than from static sketches in printed material. "

Oh god please....they are terrible =_=''''

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

Vectors aren't terrible...And they're pretty important when dealing with practical problems of math and science.
