Such as the rib cage it helps protects the organs inside. -The third and most important function of the human skeleton is production of new blood cells which are made in the blood marrow.
-Three types of specialized bone cells are Osteoblast-They are the bone building cells, they secrete collagen fibers and build bone matrix. Osteocytes- they are the mature bone cells, they are the main builders of bone tissue. They maintain the bones' daily metabolism and also maintain in exchanging of nutrients and waste in the blood. Osteoclasts- these type of cells digest components of the bone and also help eat up dead bone cells.
