The area of the square is 48 square feet. To find each side length you would take the square root of 48 which will be 6.9 so to the nearest foot would be 7 feet on each side.
is that how you would find the sides to the square?
or would the sides just be 8 x 6

yeah but the area of the square is 48? so it wouldnt be 12 x 12. it would be 8 x 6 but i think they need to be the same on each side so 8 x 6 would be 48 square root of 48 is 6.9 around to the nearest whole number 7

or it could be 8 x 6
side of square = sqrt(48) = 6.92820.. ~7 feet
