OpenStudy (ttop0816):

In triangle ABC, b = 12, c = 15, and A = 60°. To the nearest tenth, a = 13.7 << am i correct??

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

First we have to make sure ABC is a right triangle

OpenStudy (ttop0816):

yes!

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

I'm still drawing the graphic but how do you know it is a right triangle?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

According to my calculations the third side is 13.748 - so you are right and the angles are 60°, 70.893°, and 49.107° So, it isn't a right triangle and didn't use the Pythagorean Theorem to get the third side. Well done.
