- Define immovable joint, and give an example of bones that are connected by this type of joint. - Describe the movement of a pivot joint, such as the elbow.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

The definition of immovable joint: A union of two bones by fibrous tissue, such as a syndesmosis or gomphosis, in which there is no joint cavity and little motion is possible. An example of an immovable joint would be the areas that connect the cranium (skull). A pivot joint rotates.. like try to move and turn your elbow... what directions does it move? It rotates.
