1. Eager or quick to argue 2. To move with exaggerated motions (in the past tense) 3. With an air of finality, a move that decides it all 4. In a sheepish manner, like "I'm not sure about the answer to a question, so I gingerly asked for help" 5. In a "rude" way, kinda brute-ish 6. The opposite of engage, so to stop talking with someone, or something of the sort 7. Asked/said off-handedly 8. Convinced 9. Deliberately, playfully teasing 10. (that last one isn't actually a word... I think you meant "imminent"*?) (*something that's about to happen)
