Someone please help! How do elements with heavier nuclei form from lighter elements in the stars? Why does this process occur naturally in stars but not on Earth

they are form by the process of nuclear fusion

and the question "why" is a good question xD (still searching for some info so give me a minute)

because i think nuclear fusion produces a massive amount of energy which can possibly destroy the Earth (but for further studies, scientist are experimenting to use this method as a new source of energy) :)
