If the point (x, sqrt 3/3 is on the unit circle, what is x? a. 2/3 b. sqrt6/3 c. 4/9 d. sqrt 2/3

OpenStudy (ranga):

In a unit circle, the first coordinate is cos(theta) and the second coordinate is sin(theta). Here sin(theta) = sqrt(3) / 3. Use this info to find cos(theta) which will be your x.

i got 1/3 i dont think im doing this right.

OpenStudy (ranga):

You can make use of the trig identity: sin^2(theta) + cos^2(theta) = 1 to find cos(theta)
