You first need to make a drawing and determine the velocity components in the x and y directions.  y in this case is the vertical component.

So I have Vx and Vy and found the time the ball reaches the goal post and then calculated the height of the ball  at the time and subtracted 3.0 m from that. But I had to assume that the ball will travel those 20m. Is that right?
