what shape is created when a semi−circle is rotated about the y−axis? great circle sphere triangle<---

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Have you actually tried sketching this situation? Excuse my asking, but does a triangle have any curved edges? When you're unsure of the correct answer, try the approach of eliminating the very worst answers. Good luck! If you still need help, try looking up "great circle" and "sphere." What you learn by doing that will help you answer this question.

OpenStudy (keana):

I know for sure it isn't a triangle. but i'm not sure what a great circle is. from what I do know, i'm leaning more towards a great circle due to process of elimination. a sphere is perfectly round & idk if that fits into the category of the question...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it all depends on how the semi circle is?

OpenStudy (keana):

yeah, I know. which is partly why I am confused :(
