Can somebody please explain this?

OpenStudy (vanessagilbert1023):

Medal and fan.

OpenStudy (vanessagilbert1023):

What does it mean to "satisfy the inequality ?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wassup girl

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(a,b) is representative of an (x,y) coordinate. If you solve the equality for y or x you can see the relation between them. This relation will then allow you to determine which statement is true. For example the first statement must be false because within the given parameters of the problem it was stated that (a,b) DOES do that

OpenStudy (vanessagilbert1023):

is it the 3rd one..?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes! because when you solve the inequality you are given y>2x+6

OpenStudy (vanessagilbert1023):

So it's like a two step equation, you're just putting a for x and b for y?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep. :)
