50 tiles in a bag, Jim takes 30. 6 of the 30 are green. How many tiles are green?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Looks like a trick question to me.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How many tiles of the 50 are green?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It was on the pssas

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6 of the 30 are green... tells me that 6 are green, unless the question is how many tiles out of the entire 50 are green.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mabe it was 6 green tiles of the 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then what would it be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In that case, you would find the percentage of the 6 out of 30 tiles, then apply the same percentage to the remaining 20. add that percentage to the 6 known.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6/30=20% so find 20% of 20.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then 6+(20% of 20)= your answer
