Comparing Matrices. I don't know how to do this! Can anyone help? I posted a picture of each matrix. Thank you!

they want you to know that the determinant (the ad - bc calculation) is 0 if the matrix is NOT invertible. if the determinant is not zero, the matrix is invertible.

If the determinant is zero, it has no inverse.

you can definitely rule out the choice both are equal.

OpenStudy (phi):

here is what you (should!) know det(A)= 0 det(B)≠0 (but its sign is unknown, it could be + or - number)

But there are no values, so the answer would be that is can't be solved with the information supplied, right?

the only thing you know is that det(A) ≠ det(B)
