Order the following masses from least to greatest: 500 g, 50 kg, 5,000 mg

You have to be able to compare them so you need to convert them all either to grams, kilograms or milligrams. Then it will be easy to see which is bigger. Let's leave the first one in grams. For the second one (50 kg), to change from kg to g, you need to move the decimal place 3 time to the right to get 50,000 g. Then for the next one (5,000 mg), to change from mg to g, you need to move the decimal place 3 places to the left to get 5 g. Write them in order of least to greatest: 5 g, 500 g, 50,000 g Now convert them back to the way they were first written. 5,000 mg, 500 g, 50 kg

Thanks sooo much, I'm sick and I haven't been able to be in school, so I'm doing my missed work and I don't understand it that much. My parents learned this stuff a little differently so this helped alot, I'm new to this site and I love it! Thanks again!!
