Can anyone explain to me how to compare 3x3 matrices... The picture of the two matrices is attached Thanks to anyone who can help?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

first, construct E and F, then compare the elements from 21, and 23

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

To add matrices you just add the individual numbers same with subtraction

OpenStudy (amistre64):

e21 = c21 + d21 f23 = c23 - d23

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

well subtract in the latter case!!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

AND ... there are no 3x3 matrices in the question as posted :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm so confused :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh I just saw the formula you gave me. That helps! Thank you

OpenStudy (cwrw238):

these are 3*2 matrices 3 columns , 2 rows

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, that was a typo. Sorry about that!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh sorry, wrong problem! i'm working two at one time.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

c(row 2 col 1) = -3 d(row 2 col 1) = -8 e21 = -11 c(row 2 col 3) = -1 d(row 2 col 3) = 9 f23 = -10

OpenStudy (amistre64):

:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So column A! Thank you so much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No wait, it's column B.
