x^2-5 / x^2 - 4

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

what are we doing? graphing, identifying asymptotes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It say's Identify the values restricted from the domain of the expression.

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

this means what "x" values cause the function to be undefined in this case this is result of dividing by zero when is x^2 -4 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 0 is the answer?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

no you want 0 to be denominator dividing by 0 is undefined take denominator and set it equal to 0 solve for "x" those "x" values give domain restrictions --> x^2 - 4 = 0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Could it be 2 and -2..?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay! :D Thank you!
