What is the approximate area of the shaded region? A. 104.86 cm² B. 87.47 cm² C. 27.02 cm² D. 10.54 cm² http://static.k12.com/calms_media/media/1419000_1419500/1419367/2/68b362e32751322fd71cbfd25b483ee982b88ce8/MS_PA_130922_171138.jpg I have no clue :/ @beccaboo333
same as u no clue lmao
haha...
hope u fined some one who dose lol
Yea ik..

o.o
now... the radius of the circle is AF and AF is equal to CD and CE is half of the line CD and in ur question CD = 7 cm then CE = 1/2 CD = 7/2 = 3.5 which means the radius of the circle is 3.5 and i think u can find the area of the square... so.. Area of the shaded region = area of the square - area of the circle can u do it now ?
Wow o.o
The side of the square is the diameter of the circle. 1. Find the area of the square. \(A_{square} = s^2\) 2. Find the radius of the circle. \(r = \dfrac{d}{2} \), where r = radius & d = diameter. 3. Find the area of the circle. \(A_{circle} = \pi r^2\) 4. Subtract the area of the circle from the area of the square.
i got 24.5 o.o
I didn't get that, but I did get one for the choices as my answer.
nvm i cant do this im a complete idiot im just gonna exit the thing and fail it thanks for trying to help
What did you get for the area of the square?
No. Give it a chance. We'll do it one step at a time.
The area of the square is the side times the side. The side of the square is 7 cm. What is the area of the square? 7 cm * 7 cm = ?
i got 49
Ok. See, you're not an idiot. That's correct. Now we need to find the area of the circle.
The diameter of the circle is 7 cm. The radius of the circle is half the diameter. The radius is half of 7 cm. What is 7 cm/2 = ?
Omg sorry i read that as " okay so ur an idiot" xD im sorry
i got 3.5
Great. To find the area of the circle, you use the formula \(A = \pi r^2\) \( \pi \) is a Greek letter called "pi" pronounced as "pie". Its value is approximately 3.14. We know the radius is 3.5 cm. \(A = 3.14 \times 3.5 ~cm \times 3.5 ~cm,\) Can you just multiply those three numbers above to find the area of the circle?
38.465
Great. Just what I got. Now we do the finale step. We subtract the area of the circle from the area of the square. The amount left is the shaded area. What is \(49~cm^2 - 38.465 ~cm^2 =\)
i got 10.535
Which is approximately 10.54 cm^2. It's one of the choices.
Thank you so much
