How did the people during the French and American revolution respond to the actions of the respective governments? For example, how did the American colonists respond to the policies enacted by the British?

OpenStudy (muzzack):

British were taking advantages away from the colonist and french. Colonist got angry because of how they were putting tax acts on them and I'm not sure really for the french.

OpenStudy (kewlgeek555):

Hm...I know that some American colonists were still loyal to Europe, some were loyal to the new US, and some didn't even know. In France the majority of the people favored rebellion. The were the poor and oppressed middle class. The small minority of rich had the power but not the majority of opinion. Most of the sympathy was with the poor until the bloodshed became very unnecessary and a new country evolved.

Thanks for the medal! :D
