What is the surface area of a cylinder with a height of 7 and a radius of 9 with half a sphere attached?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for a cone surface area is: A=pi*r^2+pi*r*sqrt(h^2+r^2)) for a sphere, the surface area is 4pi*r^2 so you have half a sphere and a cone without a base (the half sphere is on the base of the cone) all you have to do is find the surface area of the cone minus its base (SA_cone - Area of a circle) and add half of the surface area of a sphere. that leaves you with SA = pi*r*sqrt(h^2+r^2) + (4*pi*r^2)/2 I'll let you finish from there
