What did President Truman want in the Korean war? What problems did he face? Medal for best answer!

Err, Idk if this is too broad, but he just wanted to contain communism in North Korea, not eliminate it.

As in, he just wanted to help South Korea not fall to communism.

South Korea never did, correct? They are democratic? What issues did he face during the war that got in the way of what he wanted?

Yeah, they are democratic. And a general at the time, General McArthur, head of the NATO forces, wanted to eliminate communism in North Korea. Pretty much take over all of North Korea, which imo, was not a good idea. So, the head of the entire military force wanted to go against the wishes of the president.
