OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks u helped me aton!

OpenStudy (debbieg):

Think of absolute value as "distance from 0 on the number line". (This will help when you get to more advanced topics in algebra that deal with absolute value.) So, e.g., |5|=5 since 5 is 5 units from 0 (to the right). And |-5|=5 since -5 is 5 units from 0 (to the left).

thank youDebbie!

Please help me

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Since out of 48 draws, she picked 16 red marbles, she got a red marble 1/3 of the time since 16/48 = 1/3. Since there are 45 marbles, this seems to indicate that 1/3 of them are red. What is 1/3 of 45?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
