OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does it mean when it says what is the probability of the genotypes ?

OpenStudy (hectoroftroy):

Genotypes are what versions (called alleles) of each gene an organism has. Genotypes determine what the organism looks like. The catch is that for any single appearance, sometimes more than one possible gene combination produces it. So it's like, if you know what an organism looks like - a human has brown eyes - you can tell how likely it is that they have a certain specific genotype, but sometimes you can't say for sure.
