when bush signed the economic growth and tax relief reconciliation act of 2001 he assumed that, as the rich got richer, they would open more business. The middle and lower class will either get jobs at these new businesses; considering that the job pays better then their old job. Another assumption would be that the middle and lower class will get some of those benefits that the rich have. The new businesses would also lure rural Americans (usually the lower class) into the cities; where they would get better jobs and, therefore, better benefits for all Americans. A consequence of Reaganomics is the big change in social class. Due to the Act benefiting the rich, the gap between the rich and the poor widened; the middle class stayed about the same.
