You are the navigator on a jet bomber. You want to travel to a target 5000mk away on a bearing of N15(degrees)E. The wind is blowing at 88km/hr in the direction N30(degrees)W. Find the bearing you need to travel to the target. You can fly at 1200km/hr, so also calculate the time to get to the target and return.
It is normal to quote wind direction FROM a direction. i.e. a Norht wind blows FROM the North. This question is a little ambiguous - it says the wind blows 'in the direction' N30degW Do you have any previous text or questions which would clear up what they mean here?
soz - gotta go However - NOTE There are two SEPARATE questions here - the return trip is NOT the same as the outbound since in one case the wind assists,a nd in the other it slows the plane. Each trip needs separate calculation.
I have no other text. I was only given the question. I have no clue to even begin.
OK - I can help - but I need to know where you are starting from.. You say you have 'no clue' This is about addition of vectors Have you studied vectors? Do you know the sine rule for solving triangles?
