how do you write 88.4 × 10^6

OpenStudy (mathmale):

"Engineering notation" would look like this: a.b*10^c, or \[a.b*10^{c}\]In other words, you'd present ONE digit, followed by a decimal point, and then one or two more digits. Next, you'd multiply that by some power of 10. 88.4 could be re-written as\[88.4*10^6~=~8.84*10^1*10^6\] .

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Can you now combine the last two factors to get one power of 10? Then you'll end up with \[8.84*10^?\]
