Someone, anyone? What could i put for this? In what ways do your school and community practice or promote food safety to contribute to your personal health? (20 points)

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Our school recently adopted a "buy local" program where a certain percentage of food served (mostly fruits and vegetables) have to be purchased locally. Unfortunately, with only a small budget to work with they are limited as to how much they can purchase.

I need something a little more general, as if it could go for anyone. Do you know what i mean?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

yah, let me try

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, can you figure out or do you know what percentage of the food your food serves is organic and is locally grown?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your school serves

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Well within my community, the schools promote good food safety by teaching children about the importance of keeping a clean and healthy cooking environment

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Does this help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, thats better

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well I am a cooka dn I can tell you one thing you can put down or use.. You can say this. MY local community, my school, and the surrounding schools practice food safety by checking the temperatures of our food before serving to students and checking for out of date products. They also promote a healthy food plate diagram to replace the old pyramid which allows for a larger quantity of vegetables, proteins and grains. With less fruits and carbs. Does this work?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, thanks so much. Do you think you could help with a lil something else?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

What else can we help you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'll try. I need help with something to. I am lost on it. You go first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really know what to put for this... For each of the following food safety practices, share at least 2 statements from the interactive quiz. Be sure to put these statements in your own words and explain why they are helpful in preventing food borne illness. An example would be: When dining from a buffet, make sure hot food is hot and cold food is cold. Food that is 40 – 140 degrees Fahrenheit has already begun to grow bacteria and pathogens. Clean (16 points): 1. 2. Separate (16 points): 1. 2. Cook (16 points): 1. 2. Chill (16 points): 1. 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And ok, i can help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because Food that need to be kept cold can not reach a "warm" temperature of over 30 degrees and 33 degress in pushing it. When it is between 40-140 as it stated it DOES begin to grow bacteria and can make a person I'll. All resturaunts are required and fastfood to check temperatures regularly throughout the day to make sure that they are not making buyers sick. Hot food must maintain a temp of 165 or higher( usually 180) so that is doesn't fall below allowed FDA requirements.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You should really study and take a state food safety license quiz Or other words Food handlers card. In my state it's ten dollars. You should find out what yours is.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean warm temp of over 40 degrees and hot food lower than 140

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What does the interactive quiz ask you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is this from American school
