That means the inverse of the function. To find the inverse: Change 'f(x)' to y. Swap x and y in the equation. Solve for y. Change y to f^(-1)(x)
ok would it be ....

when you get x = y^2 - 1 you would add both sides by 1 right? so y^2 = x + 1 etc
