No cheating (no Google).
Is this the 9/10+ 9/100 +9/1000 thing haha?
It could be, it may not be. :)
simple... round 0.9999999 and it will be 1 :D
I know how to do it, I'll let someone else have the glory :p
lol not a proof @paki :P
@iambatman you won my last quiz with the star and lines, nice to share the glory lol
:), there's more than one way to doing this, I want to see how others will do it haha.
Yeah. I am expecting the proof involving multiplication (hint!)
what will we do with the "MEDAL" ;-)
Barter it for a protein shake; wear it around your neck, whatever. :)
:d
*cough* precedence *cough*
this misery can be solved by geometric series... :-)
lol
Yeah that was my first approach @paki
LOL so because 0.999999... goes on indefinitely it is considered to = 1 there are a few ways to solve this, but ill give you the algebraic way of proving it so lets say x = 0.9999999999
|dw:1397027460964:dw| ok give me my medal
I will take sufficiently expanded geometric series as acceptable proof if you have the patience to type it out, but the easier proof that i know if is argument from precedence
lol that is not sufficiently detailed batman, but it's close..
batman desperately wants his medal.
I'm too lazy
let's go mira :P prove it
anyways so by definition if we take 10x - 9x = 1x correct?
which is the same as 10x - 1x = 9x
so now lets put in the values for 10x - 1x if x = 0.99999....|dw:1397027696622:dw|
