Which sentence contains a misplaced or dangling modifier? A. Suddenly, the toy animal sitting on the shelf fell over. B. We watched the sun set contentedly thinking back on a wonderful day. C. The little girl seemed quite proud to be pushing the cart through the grocery store. D. To speed the process, have correct change ready.
I believ it would be the last one because the sentence could also be written like 'Have the correct change ready to speed the process."
I think it's B). even though we may know that the 'we' were thinking back on the day, instead of the 'sun', the sentence still isn't clear as to whether it is the sun, or we that were thinking back on the day.
What do you think? :)
I was thinking A but now that you've said something (and explained it) I'm thinking B. So I guess I'll go with that.
Thanks.
