Did anyone oppose or try to prevent the Bataan Death March?

The generals of course. against the orders of Generals Douglas MacArthur and Jonathan Wainwright[citation needed], Major General Edward P. King, Jr.,commanding Luzon Force, surrendered. Many sick/disease ridden. (note: look into major battles and commanders before the battle in which the surrender happens.)
