to find the dicriminant of any quadratic equation what formula do you use? *i think it is b^2-4ac but i am not sure
It'd be quick and easy to do an Internet search for "discriminant." Why not do such a search now? This concept ("discriminant") is important enough for you to make the effort to look it up and try to understand its purpose.
i know its purpose- to find the number of solutions to a quadratic equation WHAT I NEED TO KNOW Is what you use to find it
The discriminant tells you what kind of zeroes the quadratic function will have.
If the discriminant is positive, it'll have 2 real roots. D = 0, one real root, D < 0, no real roots.
so what formula do you use to find it?
It's the one in your original post.
As jdoe said, you could've searched for it lol.
OHHH, I i didn't see your post saying you know what it means lol.
okay
