7x-2y=-14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in this question there are 2 unknowns so rearrange the equation and solve, lets solve for x first \[7x =2y-14\] \[x =\frac{ 2y-14 }{ 7 }\] now sub in this equation of x into original equation \[7x-2y =-14 \ 7(\frac{ 2y-14 }{ 7 })-2y +14 =0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now solve it by cancelling any possible terms \[7(2y-2)-2y+14=0 now expand it 14y-14-2y+14=0\] collect like terms and \[14y-2y=0\] 12y=0 y=12

got it? and to find the actual value of x simply sub in the y=12 value in the the x equation that we made \[x=\frac{ 2y-14 }{ 7}\] and you'll find the value of x as well.

hope i explained well if you have any question let me know i'll be back and if everything is fine then don't forget to give me medal :)
