Somebody can help me with this problem please

OpenStudy (aric200):

Where is the question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am trying to send a file but can not attach

OpenStudy (ranga):

#2 has 1 column, 2 columns, 3 columns. So the next pattern will have 4 columns with 4 circles in the 4th column, 3 circles in the 3rd column, etc.

OpenStudy (ranga):

You have already answered #3 correctly.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

#2 the question is how many circles are in the sixth figure in the pattern?

OpenStudy (ranga):

For #2, you just take the previous pattern and add a new column that has one more circle. So the number of circles goes like this: 1, 1 + 2, 1 + 2 + 3, 1 + 2 + 3 + 4, .... continue the pattern and you will figure it out.

OpenStudy (ranga):

They also want you to draw the next 3 patterns and figure out the number of circles in the 6th pattern.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (ranga):

Yes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So the sixth figure had 21 circles

OpenStudy (ranga):

Yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

describe pattern is 1+2+3+4+5+6

OpenStudy (ranga):

Fourth figure is obtained by adding to the third figure an additional column to the right with 4 circles in that column. Fifth figure is obtained by adding to the fourth figure an additional column to the right with 5 circles in that column. etc.

OpenStudy (ranga):

You can also include in the pattern description that the nth figure has a total of n + (n-1) + (n-2) + .... 1 circles in them. The picture you have drawn illustrates that you have understood what pattern it forms better than words can describe it. So the previous description might be sufficient.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok Thanks ranga for your great help and for the medal. God bless you

OpenStudy (ranga):

You are welcome. Glad to be able to assist.
