A. Does the cartoon illustrate investigations? Not really, so we'll skip this one.
B.The elephant is running towards the McCarthy trashcan, not away. Also, the elephant looks pretty happy to see the trashcan, so this is unlikely.
C. Like I said above, the elephant is happy and running towards the trashcan, almost greedily (its "hands" are outstretched). So this is a possible answer.
