Is the expression a monomial? Explain. qs + 5 A. No; it is a product. B. No; it is a binomial. C. Yes; it only has one term with a variable. D. Yes; it only has variables and numbers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

No, that's not a monomial...

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

A monomial would be ONE SINGLE term. 43, x^3, 2st, etc. Polynomials are created by adding or subtracting different terms together: x + 2, 2st + 9j, etc.

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):

It can be more than 2 terms, those were just example. When a polynomial has 2 TERMS, it is called a binomial.

So, my answer B is correct?

OpenStudy (ipwnbunnies):
