Jane addresses twice as many envelopes as Louis in the same amount of time. Together, they address 360 envelopes each day. How many envelopes does Jane address in a day?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Louis addresses \(l\) envelopes in a day Jane addresses \(j\) envelopes in a day. Jane addresses twice as many envelopes in a day as Louis does, so \(j = 2l\) \(j+l = 360\) Now substitute \(j = 2l\) into that equation and solve for \(l\). Then use \(j=2l\) to find \(j\).

I'm still not getting the right answer. Can you maybe explain it to me?

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

I did :-) Show me your work, and we'll find the error.
