OpenStudy (ammarah):

Write an equation of the hyperbola with foci at (-6,0),(6,0), and vertices at (-2,0),(2,0)

OpenStudy (ammarah):

@ganeshie8

OpenStudy (mathmale):

The equation of this hyperbola is relatively easy to find because the center of the graph of this hyperbola is (0,0). I know that because the foci both have y-values 0 and the vertices also have y-values 0. Would you say the hyperbola's graph is horizontal or vertical? Why? Would you please get started graphing the info that you are given here?

OpenStudy (mathmale):

And would you please look up the equation of a hyperbola centered at the origin?

OpenStudy (ammarah):

a horizontal graph

OpenStudy (ammarah):

because (-6,0)and -2,0 are on the x axis?

OpenStudy (ammarah):

how would i find the foci?
