Comparing growth curves of E. coli vs Yeast in glucose- and lactose-rich media

For E coli

I know yeast ferments glucose to ethanol first, then when that supply is exhausted it uses the ethanol. My question is: Does yeast show a preference for glucose over lactose, or would it use both without preference and show a regular growth curve?
