**Please help!! How did the Supreme Court ruling on the Indian Removal Act affect Andrew Jackson's course of action regarding Native Americans? It forced him to change the location of the resettlements but little else. It forced him to start over and rethink the entire plan for Indian removal. It forced him to go through the motions of making treaties with the tribes. It forced him to begin preparing for a Constitutional amendment on Indian removal.
Well let's see. Andrew Jackson was the most racist persident and worst president in this countries history. You know the "Trail of Tears?" That is what he created. He essentially had the army push native americans out of their lands in Georgia and in Florida and had them sent to Oklahoma. Oklhoma became known then as "Indian Territory." As far as the Supreme Court, this act if I remember was illegal. The Cherokee Nation was registered in the Supreme Court as being a "legitimate" province. So I would either go with D or with B.
Thank you c:
Ooopps! Well I suppose I'll have to double-check on that. I took A.P. U.S. History last year, but I must of forgotten the Treaties.
