I am having serious challenges with Bio 101. I am not doing well on tests. Now we are studying Virus and Dna. Got any suggestions for study?
Since it is an introductory biology course, 101, the course material is probably not going to be as tough as it would be for a more complex course such as molecular biology or virology. However, to studying viruses deals a lot with more specifically RNA. You might want to review the concepts of DNA synthesis, replication, transcription, and translation. Also, review base pairing and the more common enzymes such as DNA polymerase, tRNA, mRNA, rRNA, RNA polymerase. Also, see where each of those steps, transcription, trnalsation, occur in the cell.
It is also important to know the structure of DNA vs RNA - not on a molecular carbon structure basis, but rather, the general picture of it - it is a double-helix structure.
Wow, that what the teacher went over yesterday. I have notes on those also. What type of study habit should I do? I really want to make a decent grade on Bio to be able to transfer to a 4 year school.
Can I keep in touch with you?
Try and make a chart. I am a very visual person, so if I draw out the process it usually helps me. But, we all have different methods of learning new material. For instance: |dw:1397246310568:dw| that is a very GENERAL overview. I am sure it goes a bit more specific in your book, which you can find and re-draw yourself.
