OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Is there any legitimate need to support tagging more than a small number people at once? Why not just reject any posting that has more than a few tags?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, like the spam tagging episode we had today..

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Yes, that could serve as prosecution exhibit A :-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It sure would.

OpenStudy (compassionate):

That requires additional coding, and our Development team is busy. But, who knows, it might be a function in the near future. If you see mass-tags, please report it. Thank you.

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

Yes, I tihnk this is a good idea and should be implemented- I see tagging parties all around, and there's also a glitch in the smartscore system that allows your teamwork to increase as you tag more people...

OpenStudy (dumbsearch2):

I've seen some users taking advantage of that bug.

thomaster (thomaster):

Not a major priority currently, but should definitely be looked into when the important fixes have been made.

OpenStudy (whpalmer4):

Of course it requires some coding, and of course the development team is busy; there is no point in having a development team if you aren't going to keep them busy. As for the characterization of shutting the door on the frequent denial of service attacks that these episodes represent as not being important, the users who don't get responses because I can't see the notification that they have responded might not agree. OpenStudy is a small company, not a large one, and should not give away the nimbleness that being a small company often allows in favor of acting like a large company.

Parth (parthkohli):

As a solution in the interim, you may consider either of the two: 1. blocking the one mass tagging you 2. not receiving tags from people whom you have not fanned While these will not improve their actions, these certainly would make your notification box feel just a little lighter.
