Identify the two major divisions of the peripheral nervous system Autonomic nervous system and the somatic nervous system Describe how blood flows through the heart Oxygen depleted blood enters the heart through the Superior and Inferior Vena Cavas into the Right Atrium into the Right Atrium which pumps it through the tricuspid valve into the Right Ventrical which pumps it into the Pulmonic Valve, then through the Pulmonic artery into the lungs where the blood will become Oxygenated and returns back into the heart through the Pulmonic vein into the Left Atrim which pumps it through the mitral valve into the Left Ventrical which pumps it into the Aortic valve then into the Aorta ( the main artery of the body ) then carried through the rest of the circulatory system and supplying Oxygenated blood to the tissues (cells) and organs of the body as the heart continues to contract (squeeze), it pumps blood in the same cycle continuously through the arteries of the body blood that has been to the tissues and organs will be returned to the heart as the oxygen has been all used up it returns through the veins and comes back to the heart through the superior and inferior vena cava What controls heartbeat The heart beat is controlled by SA nodes sent through electrical impulses. These run from the very top chamber within the heart (the Atrium) and then it comes back as a contraction. This system is repeated over and over How do arteries differ from veins Arteries carry oxygenated blood to the extremities and organs; veins carry the de-oxygenated blood back to the heart and eventually to the lungs :D
