Hi All, I am just starting the course and I want to know if Python is compatible with Windows 8? Also since this course was written about 5 years ago... do I still install 2.5.4 or should I Install 2.7.6 with out deviating from course instruction? Thanks!

Python is compatible with most operating systems including Windows 8. The 2.7.6 version should be fine and if something for some reason dosen't work you can always uninstall the newer version and try with the older one.

Python works fine with windows 8 whether you're using the 3.x series or 2.x To follow the course, you want to use 2.x but won't run into any huge discrepancies using 2.7 instead of 2.5.

I would advise to visit the Python main site as well as the Google python (developer.google.com site) site as there is a difference in release 2.7 to 3.0
