OpenStudy (dj3strella):

Can someone help me 3. Solve by using the perfect squares method. x2 – 12x + 36 = 0 –18 –6 6 18

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So what number multiplied by itself = 36? and at the same time..that same number should also add to itself to make -12 What is your number?

OpenStudy (dj3strella):

6

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Hmm....well the answer to MY question is not 6 but the answer to the ACTUAL question IS 6 lol

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

So to my question...what number is it? it would be -6 -6 times -6 is indeed 36...and -6 + -6 is again indeed -12 so we have \[\large (x - 6)^2 = 0\] and the answer to that IS 6
