A carpenter makes legs for 3-legged stools and 4-legged tables. He makes a total of 74 legs. He could have made legs for how many 3-legged stools

24, I suppose. All one one do is divide his total number of legs by how many legs a single stool would require. So 74/3. You'd get 24.66. Not good. Can't make 24.66 stools. But you can make 24. So that'd be my first guess.
