3. The following is the recipe to make one dozen muffins: 1 1/2 cups flour; 1/3cups sugar; 2 tsps. baking powder; 1 egg; 1/2 cup Crisco; 3/4cup skim milk; 3/4cup blueberries. If Ron Regis wants to make 18 muffins, how much of each ingredient will be required for the recipe?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

hmmm well we know that 1 dozen is 12 muffins so 2 dozen is 24 muffins.. that's doubling the recipe which is multiplying everything by 2 Half of a dozen is 6... and you need to make 18,,, so you need to multiply everything by one and a half.... a.k.a 1.5 in decimal form

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

1 1/2 in frac form 3/2 in improper frac form.. < -- -use that to multiply everything and viola 18 muffins
