I'm just a little bit confused What is the difference between Impact and Impulse?

@Mashy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

impact- N impulse- kg • m/s?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

impact = force impulse = force*time = change in momentum P.S your units are absolutely right!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

alright, thanks!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Impact force is specifically for forces over a short period of time. It is still a force and has the same unit as force: example kg m /sec^2 Impulse force is force multiplied by time duration and is similar to momentum. Impulse is change of momentum and has the same unit as momentum: example kg m /sec Thus the different is impact is related to acceleration (m /sec^2), impulse is related to velocity (m /sec).
