yes.. its the umbilical cord.. actually the transmission of food substances and waste materials take place through the placenta... the umbilical cord connects the placenta with the foetus.. so basically it would be the umbilical cord.. but the placenta also plays a significant role.. don't forget that.. :) if this question helped you..
