@abbiewinter, Which choice do you believe is correct?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I honestly have no clue

hero (hero):

\[\frac{BR}{DB} = \frac{\sqrt{1^2 + 2^2}}{\sqrt{2^2 + 4^2}} = \frac{\sqrt{5}}{\sqrt{20}} = \sqrt{\frac{5}{20}} = \sqrt{\frac{1}{4}} = \frac{1}{2}\]

hero (hero):

You're using the pythagorean theorem to FIND the hypotenuse length of each segment of interest on both kites. Then you simplify the appropriate ratios of those lengths. Notice that BR/DB = 1/2

hero (hero):

Try to understand what I did to find KE/YK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C ?

hero (hero):

Correct

hero (hero):

There's a way to figure it out without computing anything

hero (hero):

Well, rather there's a way to figure it out using a combination of mental math and observation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you!

hero (hero):

If you consider slopes, the slope of both BR and DB is 1/2 the slope of both KE and YK is 1/3
