Yes. There's a legend that one god who stole fire from Zeus and gave it to the humans. The god was punished, chained to the top oh the hill where the crows would pick out his liver each day, and each day it grew back, the God being tortured forever, just for helping humans

Yes and sometimes when the mythical god and goddesses traveled to Earth humans interfered with their travels and had been supposedly cursed. Or if the god and goddesses came to live on the land(or island) they would turn trespassers into animals.
